May, 1955: Marilyn Monroe attends the famous Actors Studio, in New York. She took private lessons from the co-founder, Lee Strasberg - which took place at his apartment. But on occasion, Monroe would sometimes participate in public meetings. Yet when she was already a big Hollywood star, Marilyn always sat at the bottom, keeping to herself and dressed simply; without makeup or her hair dolled up - to stay as discreet as possible. She was always highly concentrated and studious, sometimes talking with her neighbors, smoking a cigarette. Photographs taken by Roy Schatt.
